Anti Racism Resources

The foundation of the USA is systemic and institutionalized racism, with stolen people on stolen ground, which has continued over the past 450 years until today. The systems in USA have been designed to privilege and benefit white, educated, cis-gendered, heterosexual, upper middle class men. All other identities are discriminated against both personally and structurally, leading to inequities and pain. The historical and intergenerational trauma persists, and the violence takes many forms; police brutality and outright murder, school to prison pipeline, unjust incarceration, wealth and opportunity gap, lack of access to mental health/ownership of property/educational opportunities, to name just a few areas of impact. I stand in solidarity with black and brown people, indigenous and other people of color, against the inhumane systems of oppression that have defined our country.

It is upon all of us, particularly white identified people, to unpack and leverage our privilege, understand our racist conditioning, to ensure equity and justice for all. As a white cis-gendered woman, with unearned privilege, I take responsibility to decondition my mind and body, through education, self inquiry, community conversations, healing arts; to support BBIPOC (Black, Brown, Indigenous, People of Color) led organizations and initiatives; catalyze conversations with other white people to bring awareness, healing, and anti-racist action; bring continued awareness to all the work I do, to create more accessibility and welcome for BBIPOC; investigate models of reparations and redistribution of wealth, land and power.
